Suspect arrested in Pretoria for attack on homeless man

A 40-year-old man was arrested after being tracked down following an attack on a homeless person in January this year and will appear in Pretoria Magistrates Court on Friday morning.

Captain Kay Makhubele told eNCA that the man was apprehended on Wednesday on a charge of attempted murder.

It is not yet known if he is the ‘nocturnal prowler’ nor has he been linked to the murders of the five homeless men in Muckleneuk, Pretoria, but he was identified as an attacker in another instance.

According to reports there have been similarities between the attempted murder and the other five victims, as all of them were attacked with a knife while they were asleep.

Police are still urging the homeless people in Pretoria to be vigilant and practice safety.
