Survey reveals most South Africans will pay a bribe

A survey conducted in 2017 by the Ethics Institute reveals that majority of South Africans will pay a bribe when asked to do so.

The Massmart sponsored report revealed by the Daily Maverick’s Business Against Corruption even on Thursday shows that 65 percent of South Africans who were asked, would pay the bribe.

Corruption in the private sector was the main focus of the event and incoming CEO of Business Leadership SA, Busisiwe Mavuso has stated that action needs to be taken on those involved in corruption.

A strong plan needs to be in place and action needs to be taken against companies such as BLSA member companies, KPMG and Bain & Co.

There was also talk about corporates not paying enough tax and moving money offshore.
