Myeni carried out irregular decisions at SAA

The Zondo commission of inquiry heard on Thursday how the South African Airways (SAA) board chairperson Dudu Myeni had made irregular decisions which were carried out by the state-owned company (SOC).

SAA’s former treasurer, Cynthia Stimpel testified that it is SAA business units practice to identify it’s needs, assess and then submit recommendations to the board.

The latest trend is that the initial approval is with the transactions adviser and then it is submitted to the adjudication committee, which is not how SAA should be functioning, Stimpel said.

Stimpel has raised her concerns and objections but she had been ignored.
