Gauteng MEC for sport, arts, culture and recreation, Faith Mazibuko has been called to appear before the Human Rights Commission on Tuesday regarding the leaked audio recording of the manner in which she treated her subordinates.
The audio recording was done during a meeting held between Mazibuko and senior managers where she is heard insulting them on their failure to deliver ‘combi courts’ which were to be used to rally votes for the ANC ahead of the May 8 elections.
She made many remarks regarding their race and threats of dismissal.
Sowetan Live reported that the commission, after receiving various complaints, has found her to be implicated in a number of rights violations.
Mazibuko issued a public apology after the recording was leaked however the commission will fully assess the matter when she appears before them.
