eTolls will remain in Gauteng

The South African government has decided to cover Sanral’s R5.7-billion debt and Gauteng’s tolls are set to remain.

In transport Minister Blade Nzimande’s statement on Monday he labelled it as a strategic intervention to maintain the toll network.

Money that was set aside in the mid-term budget in October 2018 will be used.

Despite many promises by local government to scrap the etoll system, it seems the ANC have put in the final word.
