South African elections will be held on May 8

President Cyril Ramaphosa announced that the sixth democratic national and provincial elections will take place on May 8.

The announcement came on Thursday during the State of the Nation Address.

South Africans will have the opportunity to cast their votes in the next few month to determine their support and the direction of the country.

As a reminder, Ramaphosa appealed to all eligible South Africans who have not registered as voters yet that they have until the proclamation of the election date to register.
