A teacher has been removed from the Valhalla Primary School in Centurion on Wednesday after the Gauteng Education Department were informed of possible sexual abuse on girls as young as 6.
News24 reported that the 55-year-old educator has not yet been arrested as certain procedures need to be followed.
Parents are calling for the immediate suspension of the teacher and are threatening to gather at the school in protest.
Police have obtained statements and an investigation is under way on an apparent 23 cases where he allegedly touched girls as young as 6 in a sexually inappropriate manor.
The abuse is said to have started in June last year but reports only began last month.
Social workers have been dispatched and will provide support to the affected pupils.
