Former correctional services commissioner Linda Mti’s lawyers agreed with the Hawks that their client will hand himself over to authorities and is set to appear in the Pretoria commercial Crimes court on Thursday.
Mti will join the list of accused on charges of fraud, corruption and money-laundering after being implemented during the Commission of Inquiry for accepting bribes from Bosasa.
Earlier this week the Hawks made five high-profile arrests after investigations into the R1,6-billion worth of misappropriated tenders between Bosasa and the correctional services department where officials allegedly received bribes in the form of cash, properties and vehicles in return for tenders.
Some were said to have received other assets, payments and overseas travel.
The five who were arrested earlier in the week are all out on R20,000 bail and are set to appear in court in March after further investigations are conducted.
