This past weekend, the famous New York Times published an article aimed at David Mabuza titled “South Africa Vows to End Corruption. Are Its New Leaders Part of the Problem?” The double-spread described Mabuza’s journey from high school maths teacher to deputy president and exposed every detail of his corrupt history.
The article accused Mabuza of stealing pubic funds intended for Mpumalanga schools, manipulation and other forms of corruption. The story was featured on front pages and successfully humiliated the deputy president.
