Former Springboks Player Ashwin Willemse to Attend Human Rights Commission Hearing.

Ashwin Willemse walked out of the SuperSport studios on May 19th after Naas Botha and Nick Mallett called him a “quota player.” Ashwin said he would not allow himself to be “patronised by two individuals who played in an apartheid/segregated era.”

Ashwin and his legal team had originally intended to pursue a case in the Equality Court, but have since decided to take the matter up with the Human Rights Commission. According to Ashwin, “We will participate in that process. I will be allowed to go there and engage in that appropriate forum‚ and in that process restore my dignity.”
